Entry-Level CAD Drafter

Job Summary
Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for grain handling, storage, and agricultural construction projects using company standards. Interpret sketches, specifications, and engineering notes to produce accurate technical drawings, updating existing files to reflect design changes and field modifications. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure drawing accuracy while organizing electronic drawing files and assisting with material takeoffs. Occasionally visit fabrication shops, warehouses, or job sites to gather dimensional information and support site layout using a total station. Manage procurement of materials and in-house production of basic components as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Technical diploma or associate degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred (or currently pursuing)
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements
- Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to visit production facilities or construction sites as needed
- Ability to distinguish colors, lines, and fine details in technical drawings
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime during busy project periods
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks
- Internship or classroom experience producing technical drawings
- Familiarity with construction, manufacturing, or agricultural equipment
- Basic understanding of mechanical drafting principles
- Assist with site layout & ability to run a total station
