Job Summary
Manage probate administrations from opening through closing, including petitions, asset identification, accountings, and distributions. Handle trust administrations with beneficiary communications, asset tracking, and trustee reporting. Prepare estate plans for clients, considering blended families and tax planning. Support trust and probate litigation, including contested guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. Maintain substantial direct client contact through meetings and status updates while attending court hearings with increasing independence. Coordinate closely with CPAs on tax matters. Requires an ABA-accredited J.D., active Oregon State Bar membership or July 2026 bar exam eligibility, and reliable transportation for travel across Washington, Columbia, Multnomah, Clackamas, and Marion Counties.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in the Oregon State Bar, or sat for the July 2026 Oregon bar exam
- Comfort with direct client communication
- Comfortable in a fast-paced office where effective & efficient handling of client matters is the priority
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to courthouses in Washington, Columbia, Multnomah, Clackamas, and Marion Counties
