Job Summary
Operate harvester equipment safely and efficiently during harvest activities, transporting machines between fields while adhering to roadway safety requirements. Support field operations by maintaining efficient picking and harvesting performance, assisting with unjamming, troubleshooting minor issues, and cleaning debris around trucks and harvesters. Monitor harvester performance to report equipment issues or safety concerns to leadership and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work closely with operators, drivers, and field personnel to ensure smooth harvest operations, assist with training new employees, and follow all company policies regarding safety, food safety, and environmental compliance. Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around harvesting equipment while supporting additional field department duties and seasonal activities as assigned. This seasonal role typically runs from mid-June through October, with pay ranging from $18.05 to $19.95 depending on prior experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Previous experience operating harvesters, tractors, or other agricultural equipment
- Previous experience working in farming, harvesting, field operations, or outdoor labor environments
- Knowledge of safe equipment operation and preventative maintenance practices
- Experience training or assisting other employees in a seasonal work environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to identify minor equipment issues
- Must be able to effectively read, write, speak, and understand English in order to perform the essential functions of the position
- Must be able to safely climb ladders and enter/exit harvester cabs multiple times throughout the day
- Must be able to walk in uneven outdoor field conditions and varying weather environments
- Must be able to perform physical work, including bending, climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays during harvest season
- Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug test
