Job Summary

Partner with a multidisciplinary care team to support member-centered care and remove barriers to coverage by guiding members through applications for Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace plans, SNAP, Social Security Disability, and other benefits. Support annual redeterminations, assist with documentation gathering, and coordinate with external agencies while serving as a regional subject matter expert on insurance resources. Collaborate with the Member Financial team to communicate eligibility updates and resolve inactive coverage, maintaining accurate documentation in EHR systems. This role requires full-time hours between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Eastern, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern time zone.

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and public assistance programs, or the ability to quickly build expertise
  • Experience supporting benefit applications, insurance navigation, or social services
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately
  • Ability to build trust with diverse populations while maintaining professional boundaries
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation practices
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to member-centered care and harm reduction principles
  • Associate's degree or higher, preferably in social services, human services, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in benefits navigation, insurance support, or a social or behavioral health setting
  • Equivalent experience with a willingness to complete training
  • Reliable high-speed internet and telephone service
  • At least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
  • Strong Wi-Fi signal from the remote work location
  • Must meet all pre-employment and state-specific compliance requirements, which may include background screening, fingerprinting, drug testing, health screening, CPR or Basic First Aid, and license or credential verification

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
  • Proficiency with office technology and systems, including Google Workspace, EHRs, and similar tools
  • Prioritizing candidates who align with the Eastern time zone (EDT/EST) for consistent overlap and availability with our core clinical and operational teams
