Entitlement Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinate and manage entitlements, including representative payee accounts and benefits, for individuals living in EPI residential homes. Monitor SSA, SSP, and SNAP eligibility; process and track Medicaid, SSI, and SNAP recertifications; and reconcile representative payee accounts monthly to ensure balances remain below established thresholds. Assist with benefit transfers during intake and discharge, invoice rent requirements, and perform periodic onsite visits for reviews and staff training. Communicate updates regarding benefits and savings needs to supervisors, guardians, and other interested parties while organizing financial records for approximately 80 individuals. Escalate outstanding issues to the Director of Finance and complete required trainings mandated by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • Two years of related experience
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
  • Ability to drive company vans for business travel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with persons supported and a diverse employee population
  • Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity, and diplomacy during difficult and/or stressful situations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and customer requests in an environment with frequently changing needs and priorities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to twist, bend, use hand to finger, stretch with hands and arms
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience as a care coordinator or care manager
  • Knowledge of regulations related to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security Administration (SSA), State Supplement Program (SSP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Personal Allowance
  • Experience with representative payee accounting software
