Job Summary
Coordinate with VA Account Representatives and internal departments to maintain responsive technical relationships and drive successful adoption of InterSystems technologies. Serve as a trusted advisor to VA stakeholders, guiding architectural decisions and recommending development patterns, migration strategies, and operational best practices. Design and present Proof of Concepts, deliver on-site training, and support beta test programs while writing competitive proposals and solution overviews. Report technical issues to appropriate departments and oversee resolution, ensuring positive feedback and reference-ability. Lead POC and pilot projects, manage System Integrators, and collaborate with Product Management to enhance offerings based on client needs.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering role(s)
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Account Manager and/or Solution Consultant
- U.S. Government experience
- Experience with government security standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.)
- Awareness of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements in healthcare and public sector
- Ability to handle technical questions and provide solutions
- Proficiency in architecture design and technical documentation
- Object-Oriented Programming and/or Enterprise Application Development, vibe coding, etc.
- Relational or non-relational databases using SQL or NoSQL
- Data Engineering skills using Python, GenAI, RAG, MCP, etc.
- Modern Analytics architectures - Data Lakes /Data fabrics/Data mesh
- Machine Learning and Generative AI use cases
- HTML, JavaScript, Angular
- XML, XSLT, JSON, SOAP, REST
- Cloud hardware services, containers, kubernetes, etc.
- Windows, Unix/Linux, MAC OS X
- API Management
- Healthcare Interoperability Standards and Protocols (FHIR, HL7v2, CCD/CCDA, X12, etc.)
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Relevant technical certifications related to InterSystems products or similar technologies
- Technical certifications related to Healthcare Interoperability protocols
- Familiarity with the Public Sector, especially the VA, and its technical requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinicians, C-level executives, and software engineers
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations
- Strong analytical skills to assess technical feasibility and recommend strategies
- Ability to lead and manage Proof of Concept (POC), Prototype, and Paid Pilot projects
- Experience in leading technical qualification calls and managing RFx processes
- Ability to oversee System Integrator and implementation teams and ensure successful project delivery
- Commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and reference-ability
- Ability to provide technical mentoring and transfer of knowledge to the VA and its partners
- Ability to work closely with Account Managers, Professional Services, Product Management, Support, and other internal teams
- Experience in logging and communicating customer needs to Product Management and Development
- Occasional regional travel
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the VistA Electronic Medical Record
- Relevant technical certifications related to InterSystems products or similar technologies are advantageous
- Technical certifications related to Healthcare Interoperability protocols are advantageous
