Job Summary
Operationalize Caterpillar's enterprise payments governance model by translating strategy into repeatable processes, decision frameworks, and controls applied consistently across business units, geographies, and channels. Lead governance activities including PSP selection, lifecycle management, exception review, and remediation while partnering with Treasury, Tax, Legal, ERP, Finance, and Digital teams to drive aligned decision-making. Establish the Enterprise Payments Center of Excellence operating model, facilitate enterprise reviews for new payment methods, and maintain visibility into initiatives through metrics and reporting. Serve as the primary escalation point for governance decisions and exceptions to ensure scalable, compliant payment experiences across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading governance, operating model, or enterprise standards initiatives within payments, fintech, financial services, or enterprise platforms
- Deep understanding of: Payment Service Providers (PSPs)
- Deep understanding of: Payment acceptance and processing models
- Deep understanding of: Card and bank payment rails (ACH, NACHA, SEPA, wire transfers, etc.)
- Deep understanding of: Payment lifecycle processes including authorization, settlement, and reconciliation
- Experience operating within enterprise governance, Center of Excellence, or shared services models
- Demonstrated ability to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders and organizations
- Experience managing complex initiatives involving business, technology, legal, finance, and compliance teams
- Ability to establish scalable processes, frameworks, and operating models
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to balance enterprise standardization with business flexibility
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent working experience
- 8+ years of experience in payments, financial services, fintech, enterprise platforms, governance, or related disciplines
- Experience working directly with: Treasury and banking organizations
- Experience working directly with: Tax and legal functions
- Experience working directly with: Enterprise architecture and digital platform teams
- As well as knowledge of: Merchant of Record (MoR) models
- As well as knowledge of: Subscription and recurring billing models
- As well as knowledge of: Tokenization and PCI compliance requirements
- As well as knowledge of: Global payment methods and network requirements
- Experience overseeing PSP governance, vendor management, or provider rationalization initiatives
- Experience leading enterprise transformation or digital platform governance efforts
- Proven ability to influence decisions in highly matrixed environments
- Experience establishing governance metrics, operating reviews, and executive reporting
- Demonstrated success building scalable enterprise operating models that support growth and adoption
