Job Summary
Enterprise Architect V at South Jersey Industries (SJI) leads architecture strategy, governance, and roadmap execution to translate business strategies into technical direction, guiding long-term technology landscape simplification and innovation. The role drives enterprise architecture direction, stakeholder collaboration, application rationalization, scenario planning, and the development of an implementation roadmap for the enterprise. It requires building partnerships with business and IT leaders, guiding transformation across multiple operating models (project- and product-centric), and mentoring other architects and product owners. The position emphasizes strategic thinking, governance, and delivering tangible business outcomes such as improved profitability, customer service, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience across business and IT domains, familiarity with SaaS, APIs, microservices, event-driven IT, and a strong track record in leadership, consulting, and architecture governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience
- Eight or more years of experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant
- Eight or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure, platforms, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
- Understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, related graphical models, and frameworks
- Awareness of existing, new, and emerging technologies, and processing environments
- Effective leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development
- Mastery of all components of enterprise architecture, business & IT principles and processes
