Job Summary
Enterprise Architect to design cloud-native solutions and modernize OCFCU’s technology platforms across core banking, digital banking, lending, data and analytics, and integration layers. Develop end-to-end reference architectures, patterns for cloud services and event-driven workflows, and ensure documentation for handoffs to Operations. Lead modernization efforts of legacy systems via APIs, strangler patterns, and platform re-architecture, while embedding with project teams to deliver prototypes, reference implementations, and scalable, secure, observable systems. Collaborate with InfoSec, Risk, and Compliance to ensure governance, security-by-design, and regulatory alignment; mentor engineers and contribute to the multi-year technology roadmap and architectural standards. This role is hybrid-eligible with a required California residency and a 50-mile commuting radius of Santa Ana headquarters.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles, with substantial hands-on design and implementation work
- Cloud-native solution design on Azure and/or AWS (APIs and microservices)
- Containerization and/or serverless architectures
- Messaging/event-driven architectures and observability patterns
- Proven experience decomposing legacy or vendor-centric environments and delivering modernization in production
- Experience with AI/LLM-enabled solutions (integration with cloud AI services, AI-backed features) and data science/analytics collaboration
- Experience producing operational documentation (runbooks, monitoring/alerting requirements) for handoffs to Operations
- Knowledge of financial services familiarity (NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA) and vendor risk considerations
- CI/CD and DevOps practices, IaC, automated testing, deployment pipelines
- Experience with data platforms (data warehouse/lake, analytics, BI) and API management platforms/service meshes
- Participation in or ownership of enterprise architecture practices (roadmapping, standards, reference architecture)
- Strong ability to translate complex technical topics for leadership and business partners
- Familiarity with core banking and digital banking platforms (e.g., Symitar, Jack Henry ecosystem)
