Enterprise AI & Automation Engineer

Job Summary
Support planning, development, implementation, and ongoing support of artificial intelligence, agentic AI, automation, and workflow solutions that improve university operations. Work directly with academic and administrative departments to understand needs, define requirements, and recommend practical technology solutions while integrating with enterprise systems, APIs, and campus applications. Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for reducing manual work and improving service delivery, then develop documentation, standards, and training materials to enable stakeholder adoption. Participate in solution intake, feasibility reviews, and risk assessments in collaboration with IT leadership, providing workshops and post-implementation support to ensure alignment with institutional standards for data governance, security, and privacy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, data analytics, business technology, or a related field
- Knowledge of current technological developments and trends related to artificial intelligence, automation, enterprise applications, data integration, and information systems
- Working knowledge of enterprise technology platforms, cloud services, automation tools, collaboration systems, and related technologies used to support institutional operations
- Ability to coordinate and support the development, enhancement, integration, and implementation of technology solutions from an institutional information services perspective
- Ability to interpret business needs, document requirements, evaluate solution options, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, accessibility, FERPA, information security, and the responsible use of institutional data
- Three to seven years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of application integration, data management, workflow automation, scripting, reporting, security, and identity/access management concepts
- Experience with agentic AI or AI coworker platforms, IT systems implementation, application development, automation, systems integration, business analysis, solution architecture, or enterprise application support
- Experience in higher education, student information systems, learning management systems, CRM platforms, ERP systems, data governance, or regulated data environments
