Job Summary
Conduct patient interviews for financial programs and determine eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, and federal grants. Complete financial verification, register patients, and create account files through data entry. Follow up on eligibility approvals, denials, and pending Medicaid cases while maintaining logs. Submit applications for baby and kid care presumptive eligibility within five days. Counsel patients on charging policies, billing, rights, and community agency referrals. Check in patients, collect co-pays, verify insurance, and assist walk-ins or scheduled appointments. Place reminder calls, distribute surveys, and travel to other clinics as needed to maintain clinic flow.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/ GED
- 1 year experience in third party billing, state funded programs, payer source and billing procedures
- 2 years of clerical experience and / or training, preferably in a clinical environment or the equivalent combination of education and / or experience
- Current immunizations are required to work at Sunrise Community Health
- Influenza (Flu) Vaccine is required for ALL staff
