Job Summary
Research and verify patient eligibility for Medicaid, Child Health Plan +, Medicare Savings, Title X, RWG, SDP, STRIDE Discount, and Connect for Health Colorado programs. Register and interview patients to obtain accurate demographic and financial information, then complete enrollment applications through electronic and manual systems. Provide case management services for individuals and families on public insurance, including redeterminations and SEP reporting, while identifying and correcting enrollment discrepancies. Maintain knowledge of program eligibility and specifications, interpret federal and state criteria, and communicate outcomes to patients. Ensure the protection of confidential information and collaborate with the Patient Accounts team to close out outstanding tickets. Maintain a 90% accuracy rate on program audits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Must have or obtain BLS/CPR within 60 days of hire
- Must be able to travel with use of personal vehicle
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents
- Must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Must possess the ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations
- Must receive an annual flu shot or provide an exemption
- Must undergo tuberculosis screening and testing
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an office setting or clinical setting
- Knowledge of the health and human services infrastructure, health insurance programs and public coverage options
- Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and external agency contacts
- Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to work from procedure manuals
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDEs diverse patient population
- Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients
- Basic math skills
- A basic understanding of accounting
- Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products
