Job Summary
Enrichment Site Director responsible for leading and managing a YMCA before- and after-school program on a public school campus. Lead a staff team to deliver a well-rounded youth development program including academic support, educational enrichment, family engagement, school partnerships, STEAM, and physical activity. Coordinate with the school principal/administrators and parent organizations to embed the YMCA in the school culture. Manage daily operations, conduct staff onboarding and training, supervise and coach staff, ensure child safety and adherence to health, safety, and risk-management policies, supervise children with positive behavior strategies, manage budgets and supplies, and participate in fundraising and community engagement. The role requires the ability to develop relationships with families and school partners, supervise program activities, and support program quality across multiple sites with shift responsibilities and occasional trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Twenty-one years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years' experience supervising an after school program
- Previous experience working with school age children in a group setting (preferred)
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Twelve (12) qualifying units in early childhood education, child development, psychology, sociology, art, theater, education, recreation, humanities, physical education, kinesiology, human services, nursing, counseling, etc.
- Three (3) child development administration units
- Strong character values, strong communication skills, emotional maturity
- Current TB
- Paid trainings in relevant areas (child abuse prevention, mandated reporting, positive discipline and child guidance, supervision and safety, risk management, programming, active shooter, diversity & inclusion, anti-bullying, communication and child development)
