Job Summary
Plan and lead engaging enrichment activities for youth in grades K–8, creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for a class of 20 students. Travel between local schools in Southern California to teach scheduled sessions while attending occasional team meetings and training. Work Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM, typically for 3–4 days per week, to guide students through creative lessons that spark confidence. This role offers $35/hour for passionate instructors qualified in a specific skill area, with Arc providing curriculum support to ensure success.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- Qualified in the specific skill we are looking for to teach our students
- To be a good communicator and self sufficient with limited supervision
- College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR take and pass an academic proficiency exam
- To get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative)
- pass a Live Scan background check
- Reliably commute before starting work
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in education, coaching, or after-school programs preferred but not required
