Enhanced Advocate (On-Call) - Domestic Abuse/Sexual Assault

Job Summary
Respond to hospitals or law enforcement agencies to provide face-to-face crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, and information about the criminal justice system to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Maintain availability at all times while on-call, arriving on-site within 30 minutes of a call. Complete initial 8 hours of training within two weeks of hire, attend quarterly meetings, and develop self-care plans. Demonstrate total confidentiality in all interactions and collaborate with program staff, volunteers, and the community. Cover two major holidays per calendar year and contribute to fundraising efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driver's license
- Must be able to be on site within 30 minutes of a call
- Demonstrate & maintain total confidentiality at all times
- Complete initial 8 hours of training within two weeks of hire
- Attend quarterly meetings
- Cover two major holidays per calendar year
- Cooperates and collaborates with program staff, volunteers, visitors to the agency and, the community at large
- Demonstrates a high degree of crisis intervention skills while working with a diverse clientele
- Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, agency staff and community at large
- Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling
- Abides by all specific program and agency policy and procedures
- Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and media
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Creates, maintains, and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan
- Essential functions of this job to be performed on company physical work site
