Job Summary
Engr III Spec - vRAN Operations role responsible for operating and maintaining the virtual RAN ecosystem, including upgrading the vRAN stack, deploying new vRAN elements, troubleshooting complex vRAN issues, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to standards to meet KPI targets such as Timely Restoral of Service (TROS) and Time to Resolve trouble tickets. Responsibilities include scheduling software and upgrades across vRAN hardware, cloud platforms, and virtual applications; performing root cause analysis; maintaining comprehensive documentation; leading in-depth troubleshooting for complex vRAN failures; collaborating with internal/external teams; and recommending process and tools improvements to boost efficiency. Preferred background includes wireless network experience, cloud infrastructure familiarity, and proficiency with Verizon Cloud Platform, IO Portal and EMS/Vendor Portal; strong communication and multi-project management skills; and willingness to work a daytime US schedule in a hybrid work setup.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or three or more years of hands-on work experience
- Experience in Field Service, Product Support, Quality Engineering, or Reliability Engineering in wireless network industry
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, services or applications
- Strong knowledge of Wireless RAN architecture and cellular networks
- Experience with virtual and containerized cloud platforms (Verizon Cloud Platform on Core, Edge and Far Edge)
- Experience with IOP and Vendor Portal and EMS
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive issues to resolution
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail in documentation and drawings
