Job Summary
Teach English to grades 9–12 with a standards-based, student-centered approach. Create and implement English language instruction aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, employing varied instructional techniques, effective planning and assessment, and data-informed decision-making. Maintain a safe and engaging classroom to support differentiated instruction, strong student proficiency, and equitable outcomes. Establish and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators; participate in ongoing professional development and alignment to district and state initiatives. Ensure effective student testing administration and contribute to a positive school–home partnership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure from the MA DESE for the grade(s) and subject(s) assigned.
- Demonstrated subject matter competence in English.
- Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.
- Effective classroom management.
- Ability to deliver effective instruction.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet student needs.
- Ability to administer required student testing and assessments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, colleagues and administrators.
- Promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity.
- Effective integration of technology across the curriculum.
- Fulfilling professional responsibilities.
