Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while preparing accommodations for individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology reflecting an understanding of diverse learning styles and needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning styles and achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional activities. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula according to Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and district personnel via phone, email, or video conferencing. Participate in staff development activities, faculty meetings, and staff committees as required. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
- English as a Second Language
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- One year student teaching or approved internship
