Job Summary
Develop age-appropriate English language and literacy curriculum plans aligned with educational standards and grade-level needs. Teach foundational skills including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication while tailoring instruction to diverse developmental levels. Introduce students to various literary forms using age-appropriate texts and novels to foster a love for reading. Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, and tests, providing constructive feedback to support improvement. Adapt teaching methods to address varying abilities, learning styles, and language proficiencies while maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Manage behavior effectively and incorporate technology to enhance engagement. Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and participate in conferences. Collaborate with staff on curriculum and extracurricular activities, and engage in ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in education, English, or a related field
- State teaching certification or licensure
