Job Summary
English Teacher position at Nassau BOCES (Barry Tech – Westbury, NY) responsible for delivering an NYS-certified integrated language arts program across multiple CTE disciplines, collaborating with CTE instructors to develop contextualized curriculum aligned with NYS ELA standards, differentiating instruction for diverse learners (including IEPs/504 plans), embedding literacy and communication skills into career-focused training, and utilizing instructional technology and virtual classroom management to drive standards-based instruction aligned with college and career readiness goals. Requires NYSED English Language Arts certification (Grades 7-12) and NYSED Students with Disabilities certification (All Grades or 7-12) with 3+ years high school English teaching experience; salary per labor contract.
Required Qualifications
- NYSED Certification: English Language Arts (Grades 7-12)
- NYSED Certification: Students with Disabilities (All Grades) or (7-12)
- Three or more years of experience as an English teacher in a high school setting
- Experience with IEPs and Section 504 plans
- Experience integrating instructional technology into the curriculum in a CTE setting (preferred)
