English Language Learning Intern (Fall 2026- UNPAID)

Job Summary
Attend ESOL and Cultural Orientation classes on designated days, arrive early to check in with the teacher, and assist students with class assignments. Set up and tear down the classroom, answer client questions regarding language and culture, and provide supervision for young children when present. Integrate digital literacy into the classroom and help integrate other duties as assigned. Record hours and submit completed timesheets monthly via the IRC's online Volunteer Dashboard. This unpaid internship supports the Adult Education Specialist in restoring safety and dignity to refugees across 29 U.S. cities.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
- Patient, reliable, and flexible
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to global environments and languages is a plus
- While a personal vehicle is not required, it would be helpful on occasion
