Job Summary
Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, Massachusetts standards-aligned lessons using culturally and linguistically sustaining practices. Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs, including Multilingual Learners, students with disabilities, and advanced learners, while developing content and language objectives for every lesson. Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, and actively participate in the MTSS framework to identify challenges and implement interventions. Establish a safe, inclusive classroom environment, collaborate with colleagues and ESL/ELD specialists to co-plan, and communicate effectively with parents using translation services as needed. Engage in Professional Learning Communities, attend faculty meetings, and pursue ongoing professional development to align with district and state initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Master's degree
- Subject matter expertise
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License for the applicable grade level and subject area
- SEI endorsement
- Previous teaching experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to design and deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction and differentiate to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including Multilingual Learners (MLs), students with disabilities, and advanced learners
- Skilled in using student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and support students' social, emotional, and academic growth within a collaborative, multi-tiered system of supports
- Ability to work in a classroom setting and adapt to a dynamic school environment
- Occasional lifting of instructional materials, setting up classroom activities, and moving throughout the school building
- Successful completion of background checks as required by Massachusetts state law and School Committee policies
