Job Summary
Ensure all school sites meet compliance requirements for annual ELPAC testing and follow the PUC Schools English Language Learner Master Plan, Scope & Sequence, and Reclassification Matrix. Collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer to analyze assessment data, identify trends, and plan evidence-based interventions for K-12 language learners across 14 sites. Lead professional development and coaching for site leaders, teachers, and counselors on integrated and designated instruction while monitoring curriculum alignment with California Department of Education standards. Travel regularly between locations to support school sites and ensure resources and pathways for success are provided to teachers, staff, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CA Driver's License
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field
- 4+ years of teaching experience with English Language Learner experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience in support of English Learners
- Evidence of English Language experience with curriculum, instruction, research, and methodologies in support of language learners
- Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticity
- Able to support, model, teach, mentor, and create as needed and/or determined by the Deputy Superintendent of Academics in support of meeting the needs of language learners at our schools
- Able to travel between 14 schools at PUC Schools located in North East Los Angeles and North East San Fernando Valley
- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards
- Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
