ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER

English Language Arts Teacher at Marcus Whitman Middle School. The role involves delivering ELA instruction to middle school students, modifying instructional programs to meet individual student needs, collaboratively planning and implementing courses to meet academic standards, and employing a variety of instructional strategies and technology to support learning. The position requires reporting student progress to families, maintaining student records and data, participating in team and department meetings, and supporting an inclusive and equitable learning environment for a diverse student population. Competencies include teamwork, planning/organizational skills, computer literacy, effective communication, and professionalism. Minimum requirements include a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement, ability to work in a team, and use of research-based instructional strategies with emphasis on reading skills. Hours per day: 7.5; Days per year: 185; Salary based on experience; 100% in-person at Port Orchard, WA.
