Job Summary
Teach 8th-grade English-Language Arts using district-approved curriculum, instructing assigned classes at designated times and locations. Plan diverse instructional programs that meet individual student needs, establish clear lesson objectives, and guide learning toward curriculum goals. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning while encouraging high standards of behavior and protecting students, equipment, and facilities. Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, maintain accurate legal records, and assist administration in implementing policies. Provide education-related support to students and parents outside the instructional day.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree from a college or university
- Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
- Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught
- Valid N.C. teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such
