Job Summary
Teach 8th grade English-Language Arts using district-approved curriculum and plan programs of study that meet individual student needs. Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations while creating a classroom environment conducive to learning. Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, maintain accurate records, and assist in diagnosing learning disabilities with district specialists. Establish clear objectives for lessons and projects, encourage students to maintain behavioral standards, and protect students, equipment, and facilities. Assist administration in implementing policies and remain available to students and parents outside the instructional day.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree from a college or university
- Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
- Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught
- Valid N.C. teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such
