Job Summary

Provide engaging, age-appropriate tutoring for individual students or small instructional groups while delivering structured lessons using approved curriculum or assignment-specific objectives. Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying student abilities and foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and academic growth. Monitor student participation and progress through ongoing observation and informal assessment, while communicating professionally with school personnel regarding attendance and program needs. Follow all applicable school policies, safety expectations, and emergency protocols, arriving prepared and on time for scheduled sessions. Schedule typically involves 1–4 instructional hours per week after school for 8–10 weeks, with compensation starting at $50+ per hour.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 60 completed college credits (or equivalent relevant educational or instructional experience where appropriate for the assignment)
  • Strong English language arts knowledge appropriate for the assigned grade level
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting school-age students
  • Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills
  • Reliable, professional, and organized work habits
  • Location: On-site at partner schools or community locations (varies by assignment)
  • Schedule: Typically 1–4 instructional hours per week, primarily after school
  • Program Length: Approximately 8–10 weeks per assignment
  • Start Date: Rolling opportunities based on school partner schedules
  • Compensation: Starting at $50+ per instructional hour, with rates varying based on the assignment, instructor qualifications, experience, location, scheduling needs, and other program-related factors
