Job Summary
Provide engaging, age-appropriate tutoring for individual students or small instructional groups in reading comprehension, writing mechanics, vocabulary, and test preparation. Deliver structured lessons using approved curriculum or assignment-specific objectives while differentiating instruction to accommodate varying student abilities. Foster a positive learning environment, monitor student progress through observation, and communicate professionally with school personnel regarding attendance and program needs. Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled sessions at partner schools or community locations, adhering to all site policies and safety protocols. Compensation starts at $50+ per instructional hour for 1–4 hours per week over 8–10 weeks. This opportunity identifies qualified professionals for future independent contractor instructional assignments.
Required Qualifications
- At least 60 completed college credits (or equivalent relevant educational or instructional experience where appropriate for the assignment)
- Strong English language arts knowledge appropriate for the assigned grade level
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting school-age students
- Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills
- Reliable, professional, and organized work habits
