Job Summary
The instructor provides English Language instruction based on the Arizona Adult Education ELAA Standards, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Responsibilities include managing attendance and assessments, scheduling, creating compliant lessons, and supporting students' transition to career or education pathways. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience with adult education, and the ability to engage students effectively. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree and an Adult Education Teaching Certificate, along with a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Adult Education Teaching Cert
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Knowledge of adult student characteristics and adult basic education content areas
- Ability to instruct students in basic technology applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Willingness to provide high quality customer service
- Ability to engage in learning and develop new skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching/working with adult learners
- Experience working with opportunity youth at a nonprofit organization, in an educational setting or classroom
- Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural, preferably Spanish
