Job Summary
Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote long-term understanding and top scores on ACT and SAT exams. Track individualized student progress through Vanguard's unique multi-phase curriculum while maintaining lesson schedules and modeling organizational professionalism. Spearhead the development and creative execution of evolving lesson plans and mentor middle and high school students with empathy regarding the competitive college application process. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a humanities field and teaching experience in English or a college Writing Center. Schedule includes Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm CST, with Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm CST. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities field from US Schools (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.)
- Teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center (1+ years)
- Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA)
- Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction
- Commitment to work during Hours of Operations: Mondays and Fridays: Closed; Tuesdays to Thursdays: 1:30 pm CST to 9:30 pm CST; Saturdays and Sundays: 9:30 am CST to 5:30 pm CST
Desired Qualifications
