Job Summary
Develop and implement targeted intervention lessons to support students with executive functioning and reading difficulties, utilizing data from MAP Growth and STAAR assessments to drive instruction. Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments while designing strategies that build academic confidence and growth mindsets. Collaborate with ELAR teachers to ensure cohesive learning experiences and create classroom environments conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of learners. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and compile all required reports and records. Provide regular feedback to students and maintain open communication with parents, colleagues, and community members. Participate in staff development activities and faculty meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for secondary ELAR
- Demonstrated competency in reading and writing intervention strategies
- Expertise in teaching foundational literacy skills
- Strong knowledge of reading and writing intervention strategies
- Ability to analyze and use assessment data to drive instruction
- Understanding of metacognitive strategy instruction
- Knowledge of strategies to support students in developing self-monitoring and organizational skills
- Understanding of growth mindset development and its implementation
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- 2 years of experience as a teacher in an English Language Arts setting
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a teacher in an English Language Arts setting, preferred
