Job Summary
The English adjunct will teach English Composition II courses (English 1022) on Tuesdays and Thursdays with assigned class times, applying the college’s philosophy and syllabus. Responsibilities include developing and administering English curriculum aligned with college objectives, creating lesson plans and instructional materials, designing activities linking coursework to everyday life, ongoing assessment and modification of teaching methods, maintaining accurate records in Infinite Campus, ensuring student conduct aligns with college policies, collaborating with staff, participating in professional development, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a Master’s degree in a related field (or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject), successful background check and IRCA employment authorization, and ability to teach in a community-college environment. The role is part-time and will involve instruction at the Colorado Springs, Colorado campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a field directly related to instruction, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area of instruction
- Background check and references successful completion
- IRCA compliance: verification of legal right to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment
- Prior teaching experience preferred
