Job Summary
Develop and update training materials, manuals, and curriculum for marine engine operation, maintenance, and repair. Conduct classroom and hands-on sessions while demonstrating correct tool use, safety practices, and real-world scenario simulations. Assess trainee knowledge through tests and observation, providing feedback to ensure competency. Serve as a mentor to guide personnel in shipyard environments, maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress. Ensure all instruction adheres to safety regulations and industry standards. Stay current on marine engineering advancements to continuously improve training content and methods.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as an Engineman or in a similar marine engineering role
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engines and mechanical systems
- Ability to work in shipyard environments, including confined spaces and at heights
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or training in marine engineering or a related field

- Previous experience in a training or instructional capacity
- Instructor certification or relevant teaching credentials
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner
