Job Summary

Engineering Technician V skilled in solving complex electronic equipment problems with advanced knowledge of circuits and metrology. Requires DoD Secret clearance, IPC7711 soldering certification, and extensive hands-on experience with time and frequency equipment (Cesium Beam standards) and sophisticated test instrumentation. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, testing, and verifying electronic systems per blueprints and specifications; collaborating with supervisors; performing soldering and installation tasks (cable dressing, cable tray, conduit, connectors); and designing/fabricating components as required. Strong emphasis on troubleshooting analog/digital circuits and ensuring compliance with accepted practices.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • IPC7711 soldering certification
  • Advanced Electronics Training
  • 10+ years experience as an electronics technician
  • Experience in Electronics Metrology (time and frequency equipment)
  • Proficiency with advanced test equipment (Allan Deviation Timing Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Electronic Counters)
  • Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings/manuals/specifications
  • Ability to install/repair/test/equipment and fabricate as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an electronics technician
  • Experience in Electronics Metrology with emphasis on maintenance and alignment of DoD time and frequency equipment (e.g., Cesium Beam Frequency Standards)
  • Experience and ability to use test equipment (Allan Deviation Timing Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Electronic Counters)
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex analog and digital circuits
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications; capable of installing, repairing, testing, and checking electronic equipment and systems
  • Ability to design and fabricate as required
  • Knowledge of installation tasks (Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, Repair/Make Connectors)
