Job Summary
The Engineering Technician at Schnabel will perform field observation and testing during the placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed-on fireproofing. Responsibilities include soil and concrete laboratory testing. Ideal candidates should have a high school degree and valid driver's license, with good communication skills and an attention to detail. Physical capabilities such as lifting and navigating construction sites are essential. Construction experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to perform rudimentary mathematic computations
- Attentive to detail
- Interest in working outdoors on construction sites
- Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds
- Physical ability to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history and motor vehicle record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
