Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Assemble, rework, or re-assemble units using schematics, blueprints, sketches, and verbal or written instructions. Hand solder components onto PCBs, performing rework on 0201 size parts and conducting surface mount, fine pitch, and through hole soldering. Attach wires to load cell tabs by following schematics or wiring diagrams while working with precision tools like tweezers and fine screwdrivers. Write or modify board level test procedures with guidance from design engineers, collect RF characterization data, and organize information to manage time efficiently. Operate autonomously without direct engineering oversight to ensure reliability and configuration control.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- IPC Certified
- Experience with reading/interpreting drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and complex assembly instructions in order to assemble PCBs
- Experience solder both SMT and through hole parts onto PCBs
- Operate autonomous without direct engineering or management oversite
- Proven experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team
- Demonstrated experience in fast-paced iterative design environments with complex RF and high-speed digital processing electronic products and associated software and gateware
- Demonstrated experience with reviewing hardware designs to define test coverage
- Proven ability in communicating project status and updates across departments and disciplines
- Self-starter, with ability to work within teams or as an individual contributor to accomplish design goals
- Excellent communication (oral and written) with all levels; collaboration, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to read, understand, and apply schematics and assembly drawings
- Solder fine electronics on printed circuit cards, wires, and assemblies
- Develop and troubleshoot electronics systems from incomplete information
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 6 years experience or a relevant 2-year technical degree plus 4 years or more relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience
