Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive site inspections and surveys to collect data for sustainable site development, grading, and construction initiatives. Collaborate with project managers to plan design processes, review subdivision and zoning plans, and prepare permit applications for environmental compliance. Utilize CAD software to create engineering drawings and draft technical reports while monitoring construction quality and directing subcontractors. Prepare accurate maps and visual documentation to communicate project specifications. This role requires 40–45 hours weekly with flexible core hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including potential weekend or evening work. Candidates must possess 1–4 years of civil or environmental engineering experience, a relevant degree, and proficiency in AutoCAD. Moody and Associates, Inc. offers this position in Meadville or Erie, PA, for individuals seeking hands-on experience in infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 - 4 years of demonstrated experience in the field of civil or environmental engineering or similar
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends at times
  • Ability to work extended hours when needed
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative skills with a strong work ethic
  • Be dependable (regular attendance required)
  • Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication
  • Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details
  • Must be able to adapt to changing project requirements
  • A demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse environmental conditions, including rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures, and inclement weather
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to drive for business purposes
  • Ability to hike long distances while carrying equipment and supplies
  • Ability to walk, kneeling, bending, and lift
  • Physical presence in the office
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required
  • Willingness to occasionally work out-of-town
  • Willingness to work in all seasonal weather conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications or licenses (EIT) in relevant fields
  • Familiarity with HydroCAD, Stormflow, GIS, Civil 3D, or other engineering software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with water / waste water engineering
