Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive site inspections, surveys, and construction monitoring to collect data for project planning and design. Collaborate with project managers to plan sustainable site development initiatives while utilizing CAD software to create and review engineering drawings. Assist in preparing permit applications, technical reports, and visual documentation to ensure environmental compliance and communicate project specifications. Prepare notes of observed field conditions and tabulate data using spreadsheets. Work extended hours and weekends as required, traveling to project sites in various seasonal weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 1 - 4 years of demonstrated experience in the field of civil or environmental engineering or similar
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Ability to work after hours and weekends at times
- Ability to work extended hours when needed
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborative skills with a strong work ethic
- Be dependable (regular attendance required)
- Must be able to speak & hear detailed information through oral communication
- Must be able to see clearly and recognize small details
- Must be able to adapt to changing project requirements
- A demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Occasionally work out-of-town, if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced certifications or licenses (EIT) in relevant fields
- Familiarity with HydroCAD, Stormflow, GIS, Civil 3D, or other engineering software
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Strong technical writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with water / waste water engineering
