Job Summary

Conduct field surveys on forest roads to gather design information and assist senior engineers with design reviews for road and transportation facility projects. Perform engineering-related tasks including data collection, documentation, and the development of plans, specifications, and contract documents for road reconstruction. Utilize Avenza Maps to produce geographical data for maintenance and construction tasks while managing administrative duties, blueprint reading, and file organization. Research materials and equipment to obtain vendor quotes and support planning efforts to ensure roads meet safety and operational standards. Begin August 3, 2026, and end November 25, 2026, working ten-hour days four days a week with shared housing and comprehensive benefits provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Coursework toward a degree or a minimum of one year of progress towards a degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
  • Prior exposure to and knowledge of general field methodologies and data collection techniques
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word
  • A proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to a diverse audience, including co-workers and stakeholders
  • Possess a clean, state-issued driver's license
  • Exhibit prior experience or a willingness to learn how to drive safely in an off-road setting
  • Ability to work both within a team setting and independently
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Expressed desire to learn
  • Specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
