Job Summary
Repair, modify, and troubleshoot modules or components while assembling equipment requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting. Build and repair pigtail assemblies, inspect, polish, and test fiber optic cables using measurements to diagnose JTF issues. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and fiber systems, apply necessary markings, and safely handle hazardous materials per established PM Cards. Manage independent workstreams with minimal supervision, receive instructions for unfamiliar assignments, and provide regular status updates to the Supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while mentoring junior staff. Requires DOD secret clearance and 2+ years of electronics repair experience.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate
- 2+ years electronics repair relevant work experience or a related Technical School or Navy experience
- Experience using general purpose test equipment
- Capability of soldering wires
- Capability of inspecting and polishing fiber optic cables
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance
- Minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start in this position
- Ability to conduct themselves in accordance with Leidos Values and Business Ethics
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree from a Technical School
- Knowledge of UTH operations or other production lines operations involved with position
- Knowledge of standard computer operations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of programming software
