Job Summary
Assemble prototype HVAC units from BOMs, CAD models, and schematics, including sheet metal construction, copper brazing, insulation, and electrical wiring. Install instrumentation per lab methods, operate complex equipment, and analyze or repair test units and facilities. Identify nonconformities, provide solutions to engineering stakeholders, and implement corrective actions while maintaining clean work areas and EH&S standards. Document build activities, train senior technicians, and obtain necessary certifications such as fork truck or refrigerant handling licenses. Perform test unit setup according to procedures and continuously improve laboratory activities. First shift in Plymouth, MN; hourly rate $23.65 to $50.77; Associate's degree in HVAC&R or related experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in HVAC&R
- Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service
- Fork truck training/license
- Man lift training/license
- Universal card
- R410a card
- Mentorship experience
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Peripheral vision
- Ability to work at heights
Desired Qualifications
- Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred)
