Job Summary
Guarantee the enhancement and maintenance of existing power systems at FAA facilities by independently supporting demolition, disposal, and survey of electrical distribution equipment, fuel systems, and engine generators. Troubleshoot failures, analyze performance tests, and install power system support equipment including UPS, static transfer switches, and HVAC while coordinating with FAA installation schedules. Organize construction tasks, manage project estimates, and ensure all work adheres to FAA and OHSA safety standards. Travel up to 80% of the time to client sites, maintaining a clean work area and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the Public Trust level
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to make deliveries, pick up orders or other associated tasks that require driving
- Obtain and maintain required state and local licenses for electrical work preferred
- Knowledge of maintenance and operation procedures of power systems and equipment
- Operational knowledge of Personal Computer Systems & Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of equipment fabrication, prototype assembly and testing
- Technical proficiency and effective problem-solving skills
- Solid verbal and written communications skills
- Organized with ability to handle multiple priorities
- Willingness and ability to learn new concepts and techniques
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of three (3) of years' relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Experience working as an electrical technician focusing on power distribution systems
- Experience in a construction related discipline such as utility installation, general electrical, heavy equipment operation, welding, concrete, and mechanical
Desired Qualifications
- CDL license a plus
- Relevant experience includes working with engineers
- Experience in writing / revising technical documentation for electronical systems and equipment
- Experience on power systems and equipment
- commercial electrical, lightning protection, fuel storage tank and engine generator
