Job Summary
Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives. Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for prototype electro-mechanical systems. Sets up and conducts operational tests of complete units and components under various conditions, including fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in the design, construction, and check-out of specialized test equipment using oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic apparatus. Remedy malfunctions by determining actions such as part redesign, substitution, or rearrangement. This role is pivotal in building a new Smart Mobility product from scratch, directly contributing to product execution and user experience development for global users.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from a college or university
- Typically requires a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience
- Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
- Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice
- Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence
- Good communication skills
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to solve problems
- Skilled at dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
