Job Summary
Assist engineers and scientists in creating, modifying, and testing products and processes within operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. Set up equipment, monitor tests and experiments, and inspect products for flaws to identify improvement areas. Support technical tasks and project work by observing results, collecting data, and compiling reports. Utilize computer-aided design and drafting equipment during the design phase while performing extensive research and development. Adhere to standard operating procedures, quality guidelines, and safety standards with close supervision. This safety-sensitive role involves working inside and outside facilities, potentially operating machinery, and may require extended desk time, long standing periods, or shifts outside normal business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- 1-2 years' experience
- Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
- Must be willing to work a different shift
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
- This position is Safety-Sensitive
