Job Summary
Engineering Technician I supports higher-level technicians/engineers in construction inspection on roadway projects, performing surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. Responsibilities include compiling and processing field data for daily reports, performing standardized and non-standardized tests, and assisting with plan reading and adherence to standards/specifications. The role involves both office and field duties, may require working nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, and requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Hazards may include rough terrain and adverse weather; safety toe shoes are required. Employment may be contingent on post-offer evaluation. Educational/experience pathway allows an associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
