Job Summary
Engineering Technician role supporting collaboration with engineers to build, modify, and test prototypes and manufacturing processes; construction of electrical panels per NFPA/Hydro standards; supports maintenance with complex repairs; operate from prints and schematics; drive process improvements; maintain 5S and safety compliance; requires high school diploma and electrical/pneumatic troubleshooting skills with knowledge of AC/DC motors, VFDs, Windows PCs; certification for equipment like JLG lifts and forklifts is desirable; preferred associate degree and licensed electrical certifications; CAD design and forklift/overhead crane certifications are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or work equivalent
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems
- Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, VFDs
- Knowledge of PCs, Windows operating systems
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to use trade equipment and measuring instruments
- Excellent problem-solving skills to plan and perform complex installation, repair, modification of production equipment
- Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and equipment such as knock-out, drill press, band saws
- Ability to be certified on maintenance equipment (JLG Lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts)
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Knowledge of electrical standards
