Engineering Technician (Geotechnical/Construction Quality Assurance)

Job Summary
Perform In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method. Conduct Aggregate Sampling, including concrete/grout/masonry air content, slump testing, cylinder casting, and core sampling. Also perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring. Work primarily in the field involving long-term standing, frequent walking, and exposure to wet, dusty, or noisy environments. Carry, lift, and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally while navigating rough terrain. Stand up to 10 hours a day on occasion. Weekend, overtime, and overnight work or travel may be required. NV5 provides a company truck, phone, and safety equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Will train employees without work experience; but prefer that candidates have at least some construction-related work history
- Qualified candidates should have basic math and writing skills
- Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10 hours a day on occasion
- Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk
- Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required
