Job Summary
Engineering Technician with strong electrical HM&E and Navy system experience, to lead shipboard electrical installations, hull/steel repair projects, and technical teams aboard Navy ships in Norfolk, VA. May serve as Project Lead or Electrical SME, supervising 5-10 tradespersons, interpreting NAVSEA drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with NAVSEA standards, ABS, and OSHA; coordinating with Program Managers, engineers, QA/QC, and customers; producing daily status, labor, and material reports; and traveling up to 15%. Requires ten years of hands-on Navy HM&E/electrical experience, leadership in project environments, Copper Connector and fiber optic certifications, NAVSEA certifications, and ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Relocation reimbursement is offered.
Required Qualifications
- Ten years of direct hands-on experience with shipboard Navy HM&E or electronic systems
- Five to seven years directing 'Project-Level' initiatives within corporate or program-level directives
- Experience directing daily production to attain schedule milestones
- Copper Connector Certification and fiber optic experience
- NAVSEA Cableway Inspector certification, and Copper/Fiber Connectorization certifications
- Proven ability to supervise electrical repair/installation teams aboard Navy ships (5-10 tradespersons)
- Knowledge of NAVSEA Alteration Installation Team (AIT) processes, shipboard safety, and electrical testing
- Ability to interpret NAVSEA drawings, electrical schematics, and installation standards
- Familiarity with QA practices and OQE documentation
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
- High school diploma, GED, or industrial school certificate
- Ability to travel up to 15% to shipyards/port locations
