Engineering Technician - Construction Materials Testing

Job Summary
The Engineering Technician - Construction Materials Testing is responsible for operating testing equipment and conducting tests on construction materials, including soils and concrete. Key responsibilities include documentation of daily activities and results, adherence to safety practices, and effective communication with clients and project teams. Candidates should have basic math, computer skills, and valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma and relevant testing certifications. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work off shifts, and flexibility to work outdoors.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
- Must be able to read and understand work plans
- Must be able to work off shifts and overtime
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to climb occasionally
Desired Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred
- Experience performing field and/or laboratory construction materials testing is preferred, but not required
- ACI/ICC/WisDOT certifications are preferred
Additional Requirements
- Pre-employment drug screen for certain safety-sensitive roles
- Working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
