Engineering Technician/CAD Designer

Job Summary
Modify and create design plans and drawings using CAD programs under the direction of a designer or engineer. Review project scope, evaluate field conditions, and prepare engineering documents using standard drafting practices. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and supervisors throughout the drafting, design, and construction process. Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings while applying company standards, and manage filing, storage, and retrieval of all project documents. Plot and check drawings to ensure accuracy. Perform basic design tasks and take on other duties as assigned. This role supports the Land Development team at Westwood, a top-ranked firm transforming the energy grid and developing resilient infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Basic engineering knowledge along with current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulations
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other discipline specific software
- Possess basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail, self-motivated and a team player
- Working Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam
- Willingness to learn and grow is a must
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Design skills and knowledge
- 1-5 Years of industry specific Land Development experience
